I have stayed in many places over the years, but never stayed in any place that was so meticulously equipped, clean and stunning as The Rivershack! A 3 day stay with our traveling group and every possible need was covered. Beautiful scenery just adds more delight to an already perfect place!
A group of 8 of us stayed for a night after a drive from Howley over the T'Railway. Convenient location, only about 200m from the trail. The price was very reasonable considering the size of the lodge since we had the whole place to ourselves; the place is huge. Clean and comfortable, lots of room to stretch out, full kitchen and a barbecue in the back. Restaurants within a few hundred meters if you don't want to cook. Washer and dryer, plenty of towels and 2 baths came in handy after a cool damp ride. Internet not the fastest but certainly serviceable and free! Definitely recommended!
The Rivershack Retreat is such a lovely place to stay. It is spacious and very clean. Great for a family or friend getaway. If you just want to hang out at the retreat there is lots to do.. You can play pool or darts. You can relax by the camp fire looking out over the river and enjoy the beautiful hot tub onsite. If you are adventurous, you can go zipling or river rafting in the area. We had such a fabulous time and will surely return. The Golden Gummy Girls from Family Feud Canada.
I have nothing but positive comments to give! The rooms are immaculately clean, spacious, and beautiful, with everything you need and more. Although not many people stay in Badger, this is the perfect spot if you want a quiet, private, and luxurious spot to sleep, explore, and visit. It is conveniently placed along a river with a very nice view, and next to a grocery store, convenience store, and a Robin's.
This place is absolutely amazing! The other reviews sum this place up perfectly! Stayed here in August 2024 as a group of us ATV’ed across Newfoundland. We would all definitely love to come back, even if we weren’t ATVing. Too bad it’s soooo far away from Tillsonburg Ontario!
Myself and my friend were road tripping across Newfoundland last week from St. John's to Gros Morne, expecting to stay over in Grand Falls. There was a tournament of some kind in Grand Falls and every hotel was booked there and we were thinking we might have to crash in our car. We called Rivershack Retreat and we were treated with great customer service (I think the individual we spoke to was Cheri) and received a wonderful, comfortable room with a king bed and tons of amenities, including coffee and tea, a mini fridge and microwave, makeup removing wipes and toiletries, and a television with Netflix. The details of this room were so thoughtful and Cheri and Rivershack Retreats was a real lifesaver on our trip across the island. Would definitely recommend to fellow road trippers!
Amazing home away from home. All the little things are thought of to make your stay seamless! Comfort, clean, open and a relaxing homy stay. Loved it. Stayed twice and will be spreading the word to family and friends to enjoy this amazing retreat ... Love the Shack ... thx
It was a great spot to stay on our way trough st johns, cheap and its half way. We had a lovely night there and would go back again we stayed in the small er spot thay have. It was everything there we needed to cook supper. Highly recommend and its just 200 meters off the main highway and away from a irving gas station.
